Sorry it's been a while...
Saturday, 4/12, in Lewisburg was Chocolate Festival downtown and Grand Affair for the school. We spent the morning and afternoon walking around the 4 blocks of downtown with friends tasting chocolate. The event was a fundraiser for the local theatre. We tried many wonderful truffles, chocolate covered berries, brownies, cookies and a few not so wonderful ones. That evening we got all dressed up for the 'Prom.' We had a good dinner with the same group of friends and enjoyed the company. The event was not exactly what most of us imagined, mainly because the tried to cram too many people into one room. Once the dancing started we all went to play games at a friends house and finished off the evening. We didn't have our camera's this day, but as soon as we get some pics from friends we'll post them.
The next week we began packing for Texas. We left Tuesday evening and dropped the puppies off at Bethany and Colton's. We made the almost 4 hour drive to Katie and Jeremy's where we spent the night. Along the way we had to stop at Target and had really good burgers at a local restaurant called Five Guys. We caught up with Katie and Jeremy and finally made it to bed at midnight. A few hours later we awoke and headed for Baltimore Airport. We made it onto the plane with no trouble and full bellies at 7 am. By 9:30am Texas time we were waiting at the Houston airport for Ali. The weekend went very well and the Schumann Wedding was beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to visit with friends and especially our family. Although I did find out that my hair curls better in WV, we don't miss the heat, traffic or the humidity. We were able to celebrate both Mom's birthdays and Richard got a few early presents. We made it back safe and sound and then began the almost 5 hour drive back to Lewisburg at 10:30pm. Bad Idea. When we bought the tickets we planned to stay off work the next day until a class got scheduled for me at work so I was of to Charleston, WV at 6:30am. Richard has been catching up on sleep and listening to his classes and I have been working on laundry.
Other notes... Kaci Cole, or KC, has started climbing the stairs on her own and we gave her a hair cut this week. We haven't finished it completely so no pictures yet. We got as far s her head and decided to give her a break. Also i ran for Vice President of the Student Spouse organization and got it! Of course no one ran against me but that doesn't matter. We filled all five officer positions and we are all pretty good friends so next year should be fun.
