It is interview season for Richard so Paige and I are enjoying the vacation tagging along. We started off in Oklahoma a few weeks ago then made it safely to West Virginia. Richard worked for a few days here then we headed to Cleveland for another interview near there. He really just used it as an excuse to visit a med school friend and his family. From there we ventured over to Chicago. We went through South Bend, the home of Notre Dame, on Saturday afternoon. Since it was game day and 2 hours before kickoff we decided that was unfortunately not the best time to visit. We arrived in Illinois on a cold and rainy day.
And were not surprised by the traffic that greeted us in the city.We did have better weather the next day and went to meet our Cousin Sissy in downtown.
Paige enjoyed checking out her loft apartment.
We really enjoyed our favorite pizza done Chicago style. So much so the picture had to wait until we had already started eating.
Site seeing and trying to stay warm. It really was a windy city ;)
A shot of a wind farm and beautiful skies in Indiana on our way back home after Richard's interview.
In the 2000 miles we traveled we noticed something... Why do truckers always look when you pass them???
After we made this trip in 5 days, Richard left for Philadelphia to take his Physical Exam. That trip added another 8 hours on the road, each way. He has since returned and is glad to be at home resting, well working. Paige and I are resting :) The Lord watched over us on the road and we had no major issues. The flat tire and dead battery on the truck waited until we were all settled back in Charleston.
