Spring Break at the Cabin

We were very fortunate to be able to spend our Spring Break with family at the cabin near Angel Fire, NM. There wasn't much snow any where except for on the mountain. We drove up the back drive to the slopes and took lunch to Richard, his brother and his kids. So Paige got to enjoy a but of snow.

We left Dville at 9 am so we'd have plenty of time for our flight that left at 11am. When we checked in they informed us that our flight was 20 minutes delayed because of Chicago. But we'd most likely still make our connecting flight because it would be delayed a bit too. Once we loaded the plane, at least 30 minutes behind schedule, the Captain announced that Chicago was now delayed another 45 minutes. So we sat on the tarmac with a sleepy and fussy baby. Richard got a call from the airline that our next flight at 3pm was cancelled so he called and got us on the next one out of Chicago at 7pm. Once we finally took off, well after 1pm, Paige did much better. She fought Richard for a nap but finally gave up and slept in his arms. We touched down in Chicago at 3pm and had 4 hours to kill.We had dinner at Chili's and Paige spent the rest of the time running and entertaining.
About the time when our original flight was supposed to have landed I received a text from our friend that was going to pick us up. She said the wind was awful and the hail make the ground look like it had a blanket of snow. We are so thankful that we were delayed and stayed behind the storm. This is a view out our plane window.

Priceless entertainment

We made it home safely at 9:30 pm after 11.5 hours of travel. We all slept in the next morning and it was great. Paige had another present waiting here for her and her shipment from Tx came that morning. We joked that Paige had a month long birthday and when she got an unexpected present in the mail on Friday it really did prove to be a month long!
